Obituary for Jimmy D. Galam
Jimmy Galam, 82 of Kahului, Maui passed away on June 17, 2017 with his loving family by his side. He was born on January 21, 1935 in Pu’unene.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at St Ann’s Church in Waihee from 9:00am-10:30am, eulogy at 10:30am, mass will be celebrated at 11:00am. Burial will follow at 2:00pm at Maui Memorial Park in Wailuku.
Jimmy has served in the United States Army Reserve and retired as a Staff Sergeant. He also retired as a Building Construction Inspector with the State of Hawaii Dept. of Accounting and General Services (DAGS) in Kahului.
He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly (Russell) Phillips; son, Jimmy “Jay” Galam Jr; sister, Julie Galam; grandchildren, Jacob Phillips, Kayla Phillips, Ayelah Galam and loving relatives. Jimmy was predeceased by his wife, Loretta (Asuncion) Galam; parents, Cepriano and Esperanza Galam; brothers, Louis (Helen) Galam Sr, John (Lenora) Galam; sister, Mary (Warren Sr) Kekauoha.
The family would like to acknowledge the doctors, nurses, nurses aides and staff of Maui Memorial Medical Center and to Dr. William Mitchell and his staff for their compassionate care of Jimmy. To our family and friends, we are so very grateful for each one of you for surrounding dad and our family by visiting him, your thoughts, prayers, love and support. We are truly blessed!
