Obituary for Stephen Cabral
Stephen Cabral, 87, of Kailua, Maui, passed away on October 6, 2017 at his residence with Hospice care. He was born on December 7, 1929 in Nahiku, Maui.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Ballard Family Mortuary, service will begin at 7 p.m.
Visitation again on Thursday, October 19, 2017 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at St. Rita Church, mass 11 a.m. and burial will follow at 1 p.m. at the Maui Veteran’s Cemetery.
Stephen was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He retired from East Maui Irrigation where he worked as a Superintendent for 52 years. He loved fishing and hunting, and he was a well-known rancher.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lucky Cabral; children, Stephanie (Luis) Belloso, Margaret “Koko” Cabral, Stephen “Boy” (Cora) Cabral, Mary Jo “JoJo” Cabral (Arnold Gerard), Shirley Ann (Ipo) Hoopai, and Anna Marie Lokelani Cabral; 8 grandchildren, Jeremy, Jessica, Lawaia, Shauvlin, Lindsay, Stephen, Corey, and Aukai; 12 great-grandchildren, Domenic, Alyssa, Kalani, Pono, Alexandria, Mia, Lopaka, Jason, Adam, Risa, Noah, and Eva; sister, Cyrilla Medeiros; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Dr. Bush, Dr. Echart Dobbs, and all the nurses and aides at Maui Memorial Medical Center, Haleakala South.
